Game ON! Save the Date — October 5th, 2011 — Katy Trail Annual Support Campaign Kick Off Event. Friend of the Katy Trail, Troy Aikmain, is donating his time and efforts with a “Run with Troy Aikman.” The first 250 people donating $250 or more to the Annual Support Comaign are eligible to kick off the campaign and run with Troy from the American Airlines Center to the kickoff party at The Katy Trail Ice House.

Why contribute? According to Executive Director, Robin Baldcock, ” the annual operating budget for The Katy Trail is approximately $400,000 which help funds lights, irrigation, security, and landscaping. The Katy Trail, in conjunction with the City, has completed Phase I of the Katy Trail Master Plan. The next phase of construction will include the extension of the soft-surface path between Knox and Blackburn, as well as more entrances. Eventually, the Katy Trail will connect to the Trinity Strand and to White Rock Lake.”

Adds Robin, “everyone who uses the the Katy Trail, who lives along the Katy Trail and who works or does business in the Katy Trail Corrider will benefit from the campaign. The Katy Trail is there for all to enjoy and it is up to everyone to help maintain the beauty of the trail.”
